A knitted cashmere stole is a useful item to take with you when traveling.
The incredible lightness and softness is achieved by carefully knitting the fabric at a knitting factory in Iwate Prefecture, slowly drying it naturally over time, and then carefully hand-steaming each piece.

There is no need to send it to the dry cleaners, it can be washed in a home washing machine (vertical washing recommended) or by hand. With long-term use and regular maintenance, the texture will become softer.

The classic use is to wrap it around your neck on chilly winter days, but it's also useful when traveling between cities with large temperature differences, or when you want to throw something on inside a chilly airplane or car.
The delicately knitted vertical ribs expand when worn over the shoulders and shrink when wrapped around the neck, making the garment a more manageable width.
These ribs also help prevent wrinkles when the garment is rolled up or stuffed into a bag.

If I were to put something on over my T -shirt to beat the cold air conditioning on the plane, I'd want to be wrapped in soft cashmere that feels good against my skin.
